A Teaser…

We have tons of great pics from last week. IMG_2054_1

I had high hopes of getting an amazing blog post up about everything.

Instead, a certain 2 month old decided projectile vomiting on both of us was a much better idea.

The good news is she ’s much happier now.

Cooing and smiling in my arms.

Peace...

...And QUIET!
I'm all about not jinxing myself these days.
I didn't want to say anything until I was sure, but both girls are asleep at the same time this morning. Lauren went down for a nap... on a pillow...on the couch... (Bad Mommy!) at 7:30 with minimal crying and Chloe went down at 9:30. What does that mean? That I've had an entire hour of pure bliss.

Just the fact that Lauren is taking a nap is blissful, she looks so beautiful just laying there...
SO peaceful...

So what have I done to celebrate?
I've been baking.
Baking is such a relaxing thing for me, it's a great way to relieve stress and enjoy quiet moments.
I started yesterday by making sugar cookie dough.
This morning, I actually got to bake them.
I think I'm finally in the festive mood of the holidays.
Not having a tree has made it hard to find the spirit.
I can't wait to be with family and see our girls amazement at the trees and Christmas Lights.
Chloe loves the garland on the stairs; I can't wait until she can help decorate her grandma and grandpa's Christmas tree! And if Lauren is at all like her sister, she'll LOVE laying under their tree and staring at the lights and ornaments.
...Until Chloe pulls the tree down on top of her... Just kidding!
Okay. I'm off. Have more things to get done while it's quiet!

Knock on Wood...

Lauren is 2 months today.
I wish I could say I had pictures coming out the wazoo but it's just so busy around here that it's almost impossible to capture most moments.
Lauren is SO smiley the last couple weeks.
Is 'smiley' a word?
I'm not sure my head is screwed on right anymore.
Let's see...
We go for her 2 month checkup on Wednesday so I'll report back then on her stats.
But for my own record, the last couple nights she's been a rock.star.
ROCK.STAR.
She got a bottle at 6, went to bed after a little coaxing and slept without a peep until 2. After that, she just needed a pacifier a couple times and to be re-swaddled and basically slept until 6:30.
No bottle between 6 and 6:30.
Seriously awesome.
The night before was almost the same but 7-7.
I really really hope this continues. It's wonderful.
During the day, not so much.
All h-e (double hockey sticks) breaks loose and she doesn't nap.
There is almost nothing you can do to get her to sleep.
On the off chance she does fall asleep in the swing, she wakes up after 30 minutes because she no longer finds the rocking soothing. But wait, don't even think about turning it off once she falls asleep, because in that case she wants the rocking motion.
What am I getting at here, you ask??
We have one high-maintenance child!
But when she smiles, seriously, everything is right in the world again.
She's still in a few newborn outfits, still wearing size 1 diapers, she's really great at tracking you when you move around and she's very strong!
Best part?
Chloe absolutely adores her.
Still.
It's odd, I remember having some rough days when Chloe was this age, but I was able to focus 100% of my time on making her happy. We got a routine established early on and she's been thriving since then. With Lauren, I can't give such undivided attention because Chloe still needs her mommy too. Not to mention I can't be 2 places at once and since Lauren still needs help sleeping, she has to nap wherever we are which doesn't give her routine any consistency. I'm working on finding a balance but thank the heavens that Chloe is pretty independent for the most part.
I think I've said this before but I love love loved this stage with Chloe. But as Chloe grew, I loved every stage more and more and more... and now that she's 15 months, I can't imagine loving the next stage more but I know I will. I keep thinking that I can't wait for Lauren to play more, to talk, to walk.... but I keep having to remind myself that once she's out of the baby stage... Oh man I'm going to miss it, no matter how hard it is!!!

Hopefully by 3 months, I'll have a happier baby to report on.
Until then, we're going to enjoy the holidays with our families!
I'm done rambling for now, I've got a lot of things to do...
It takes lots of packing and planning to get these two knuckleheads away for a few days!

Sneak Peek.

Chloe is now Lauren’s personal pacifier holder.

She takes her job VERY seriously.

IMG_1360 IMG_1307IMG_1320

Don’t let these feel-good pictures deceive you.

These girls are a handful.

Mainly the little bean.

IMG_1251

She was up most of yesterday, slept about 3 hours last night and has been up for good since 6 am this morning…

IMG_1282

I’m sure some people are waiting for us to fail.

IMG_1352

For me to throw in the towel and accept defeat.

But I won’t.

IMG_1353

I wouldn’t change this for anything.

So what if I lose a little sleep?

My girls LOVE each other.

IMG_1359

Like. Seriously. LOVE.

   IMG_1358

Chloe has taken on the role as big sister from the first moment.

She has nothing but love for her sister.

She’s 15 months now, you know?

She says all kinds of words, she’s got all kinds of teeth, she waves, blows kisses, still loves her frozen peas…

She’s just a delight.

And that’s all the time I’ve got for today.

Oh How I LOVE these Girls!

Chloe is becoming quite a pro at using a fork…

IMG_1038

IMG_1044IMG_1040 IMG_1041

And at being cute…

IMG_1097

    IMG_1098

And here we have photographic proof of the ridiculously large teeth she has coming through. IMG_1076IMG_1111

What’s funny is that I didn’t realize until a couple days ago that the teeth on the top in the back have also broken through!

IMG_1106I’m not sure how she manages to keep smiling…  IMG_1119

IMG_1123

But she does…

IMG_1125 And in a somewhat new development…

… SO DOES LAUREN!IMG_1142

I finally caught this girl smiling for the camera.

Santa.

Sooo... I'm not interested in waiting in the line for the girls to see Santa. The chances are pretty good that by the time we get to the front of the line and fork over our 15+ dollars for a 15 second conversation with the Jolly old man, our girls will be in full meltdown mode. Ya know. The kind where one throws them self down on the floor and kicks and screams? That's what I'm talking about.

The girls are still too young to realize the big ole' man is the one who gives them presents under the tree. So until then, I've decided to take pictures in front of a beautiful tree!

Update... 2 Sick and 1 acrobat.

Lauren: Naps only in a moving car, forgets how to suck on a bottle, went from 9 pm to 5 am without eating. Stuffy nose.

Chloe: So many teeth coming in that her gums have bled... Not such a happy camper. The first one to get said sickness. Runny nose and cought.

Oh, and have I mentioned she's an acrobat? Yes. I put her in her crib to take a nap and I hear her crying. I go in to check on her and she's standing at the door waiting for me to come in. Catch that? She climbed out of her crib, the silly goose!

I know... I know...

Yeah... I know, I know... I haven't been around much.
Life is really really crazy.
Chris had last week off which was awesome, but today I had a really hard time finding my groove once again.
Lauren is going through a slightly difficult phase...
That's putting it lightly.
She absolutely won't let me put her down and even when I'm holding her she's not always happy.
She's pretty much unable to pacify herself AND she's much like her sister was at this age and thinks naps are (not) for babies.
Luckily once she goes down, she's a good girl at night and only wakes 1 or 2 times between say 8 pm and 6 am.
It's just hard because Chloe also needs attention.
I'm sure it'll work itself out but for now I'm just trying to survive.
Forget about having the house clean, laundry done, dinner cooked or me getting a shower.
Not gonna happen.
It's one of those rare peaceful moments in our household so I'm going to take advantage of it and go.to.sleep.

Pictures and teeth.

IMG_0867 IMG_0881_1

And yes... I am aware that Chloe has crumbs on her face...

Goes with the territory of having a toddler.

IMG_0938 IMG_0940 IMG_0942 IMG_0949 IMG_0954 IMG_0959

Do you see all the teeth in this next picture?!

There is a big one on the right in the back that broke through yesterday!

IMG_0964

Despite all these painful teeth, she still manages to crack up…

IMG_0965 IMG_1019_1 IMG_1003_1 IMG_0997_1

This is what Lauren thinks of these photo shoots.

Talk to the hand/flower/hat.

She’s so over it all.IMG_1026 IMG_0989_1
