Someday

... I'll get back into updating frequently on here.
. I (almost) promise .
For those of you who don't know, the hubby is going to be done with school after next week.
For good.

Well...
Until he realizes how dang smart he is and goes back for his Masters.
Chloe and I are just so proud!

Hooray!

To Celebrate, I'm taking my love(s) to Big Sur March 13-15th. The drive up the coast along the 1 is pretty much my favorite thing. Well, when it comes to driving at least. Want to know how much I love it?
I get car sick on windy roads.
I still love the drive.
Even when I've got my head out the window and am woozy.
I still can't help but enjoy the scenery.
(While avoiding barfing and all)

Yesterday, Chris helped me come to the realization that I'm pretty much a hotel snob.
Although I'd like to point out that up until this point he's loved the choices I've made in the past...Bucuti anyone? Seriously. Go there. Aruba. Don't Miss it. Run, Don't walk!

In any case, I don't ask to stay at the Ritz, but I do have a clearly defined idea in my head of how a hotel room should look.

Basically, my point is, my hubby's wish was to not go back to Monterey (been there/done that) or Carmel or anything 'snobby' I think he said. I can appreciate that.

So, I just booked us a couple nights in an adorable 'rustic' hotel/cabin along the 1, and believe it or not, I am absolutely thrilled. We'll be near a creek, we'll have a little fireplace, we'll have a little kitchen so I can make hot cocoa...and maybe I'll throw caution into the wind and throw a couple marshmallows in. Unless it's 80 degrees, that is. But I'm going to assume it'll be cold. I can't wait to be bundled up close to my new graduate.

I may be rethinking my lodging choices more often in the future.
Perhaps "roughing" it isn't going to be so bad after all.

I know someone else who's excited too!

Long Time No Post...

This weekend my parents came up to visit...(aka. see the baby!) Haha.
We had a great time with them and as always, it went by way too fast.

Saturday we did our own "sideways tour" and went wine tasting.

Chloe prefers slowly sipping a bottle (of formula!) in case you didn't know...

We had lunch at Los Olivos Cafe which is in the movie!
Sunday was spent changing out the flooring in our kitchen. It was so much fun and I'm still tired. (Yes. I said fun. Until I got tired and let the boys finish)., Pictures of that deserve it's own post. We went from yucky tile with maroon grout (who does that?!) to fabulous wood flooring (faux of course!) Hehe.
Monday came all too soon but we'll see them again shortly!
Love you guys.
Thank you for EVERYTHING.
Loved having you here.
Miss you.

Love our floor
Love you!

Bad Blogger

Chloe enjoying her new Elmo book ...
Aaaannd the wrapping paper.
Of course.
(thanx mom & dad! tomorrow you can read it to her yourselves!)

Where has the time gone?!
Yes. I haven't blogged in a few days.

I can't really say I'm sorry...

In any case, I have lots of things to report on.
1. Chloe is sitting a lot these days - she is still wobbly but it's fun to see her try...her feet really interest her when she's sitting. She can fold herself in half to get to them. So flexible!

2. Chloe decided to hold her own bottle for a good chunk of her lunch today. What a big girl!!

3. Chloe had her first 'solid' Tuesday Night!

(Before the Messy Chaos)

She had a little bit of Good Earth Rice Cereal today and...well... she had a couple bites, did fabulous... and then was exhausted. I don't think I'll try feeding her when she's that exhausted next time. But all in all, when she actually opened her mouth, she was great!! As if she had been doing it all her life!

(Totally over the whole Rice Cereal thing).
She'd probably like to skip straight to fruit!
haha. Fat Chance.

What I'm loving Right Now:
About a month or so ago, Chloe was really NOT into cuddling. At all. She wanted her night time bottle, a good burp and then to do anything BUT cuddle. I'm not sure what it is, but she's totally changed. She will just curl up into your arms and doze off... omg. it is beyond heavenly. That's all I can say to describe it. I love this girl!

Happy Valentines Day!

Horray!
Chloe's Very First Valentines Day!

A special post is in order to celebrate this big day...
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am thrilled to present to you...
Laughing Fudge.
AKA: Chloe
This was the first time we've ever been able to capture her laugh on camera.
Usually the second she sees the camera, she freezes up.
Today, she was an absolute HAM for her daddy.
yet another thing she does that absolutely mels my heart.
Seriously 1000x better in person.
Wish you were here.
Happy Valentines Day,
Love,

Fudgie and Fam

Please forgive the next one...I'm on the phone with kelly...*Hi Kelly! Hope you have fun in Tahoe!*

Sitting Pretty

No, Really now. She is starting to sit.
I'm not sure how I feel about it.

My heart just melts when I see her sitting up and smiling...

But breaks when I realize it means she's growing up...
But then melts again when I realize exactly that...
She's growing up...
Learning new things...
Exploring her world.
But in all honestly, I am beyond excited for this new phase.

Mom and Dad, I'm so glad you're coming next weekend.
Hopefully she won't be driving by then.
I'm ready to get some more interesting photos instead of just having her lying down all the time!
I'm sure she's beyond thrilled about that.
But so far, she's been a complete ham in her new upright position.

Well..until she topples over.
Which makes it really hard to be the photographer.
I have to try and take a good picture, while making sure my main priority is catching her if she starts to tumble.

Oh well.
A few bumps on the noggin just make for a more interesting picture.
I am JUST kidding.
That's why the pillow is behind her in most of these...

Although I still catch her in time anyway.
I promise.

Does the preview snapshot of this first video look like she's about to punch you in the face?
Because she's not...or is she...she does have a little mischief in her blood you know! :)
Enjoy our 'sitter'

5 months

This one sure snuck up on us. I happened to realize the date was the 10th.

...Which means our babycakes is adding another month to her ticker!
I just realized I forgot her darn sign. Oh well. Let's just pretend these pictures have a cute sign that says "I am 5 months old today! February 10, 2009"
There. That feels much better.

At 5 Months, Chloe...

~Can roll in either direction multiple times now...
~Can Laugh,Laugh,Laugh (she surprised us today by giving us her best performance to date!)
~Sleeps Unswaddled! No more baby burrito!!

~Sleeps from 7pm-7am, more or less... Fabulous...
~Loves to shop. Seriously. Not a whimper from her even though she is sometimes a little tired. I think she was born to shop.

~Loves her activity gym, her activity center (yes, they are different!)
~Loves to 'help' mommy cook dinner from her high chair. Actually, it's usually her witching hour and she spends most of it bossing me around, aka. screaming ;)

~Is starting to sit unsupported...

I can't imagine that life could get any better. But honestly, I know it can. Which is amazing - soon she'll be scooting and sitting up on her own for more than just a couple seconds before toppling over.

I have to admit, I no longer find myself wishing I had that little itty, bitty, teenie weenie baby I first met. Don't get me wrong, I do miss that stage, but Oh MY GOSH is this new exploring-the-world stage fun! Not to mention I get a whole heck of a lot more sleep these days. I'm so over the zombie phase :)

We love you, Chloe!
Love,
Mommy & Daddy.

Fun with Gabby!

Chloe had a photo shoot with her buddy Gabby today.

They were so cute to watch. They loved looking at each other too!

I can't get over how cute this next one is.

They had a grand old time!
They're exactly 1 week apart!
It's so fun to see them together.

Not to mention I always like hanging out with her mom.
I didn't really have time to edit these like I wanted, but they're still super duper cute.
If you have't noticed...I'm on a blogging spree today.

Also an ironic thing to note, Chloe was at the same park on her 4 AND 5 month birthdays. Ok, so that's not really big news. oh well.
