A Whole New Chapter

Last night, I decided it was time for Chloe to be a big girl about things. She had been a decent sleeper until we got back home after Christmas. I think it was a combination of being thrown every which way, completely losing her schedule (she stayed up until 11 a few nights! Yikes!), and the infamous 4 month sleep regression/wakefulness... Either way, our baby don't sleep! :)

There were a few nights in the last week or so in which she has gotten up Literally Every.15.minutes. I don't mean just for an hour or two, I mean the ENTIRE night. I was a walking zombie to say the least. I'm not sure how Chris got through work.

Anyway, two nights ago, I gave Chloe her pacifier and put her to bed. Of course, she woke up 1.5 hours later (like clockwork) and cried hysterically.
For like 15 minutes.
Get this.
She had cried herself to sleep.
I didn't hear from her again for another 4 hours
(still not great considering she used to go 8 hours before even stirring).

So, that night made me realize it is possible,
she is fully capable of doing this...

Last night, as usual, I let her have her pacifier to go to sleep, but when it fell out, too bad. She woke at 1:00 am (as always, I went in, patted her, stayed a minute or so and left.) She didn't sleep. She wasn't crying, wasn't making noise, but her eyes were wide open. Until 2:30 when I fed her. I put her down in her crib, rubbed her belly for a minute and she was out. No whimpering for her paci, NOTHING. Anyway - skip to this mornings nap. After a few loving belly pats, she's out like a light. No paci to comfort her. That is UNHEARD of in this household.
What a fabulous girl!

This newfound pacifier-free freedom may be short lived, but I'm going to love it while it lasts. (And pray that it does last!)
You can count on that!
