Adventures in Socialization

Today I took Chloe to our first Parent Participation class.

It’s basically like a mommy & me class where there are a bunch of kids running wild and having a grand ole’ time.

I signed her up for the 12-18 month group.

Most of the kids were 16+ months.

It is amazing the difference between a 12 month old and an 18 month old.

I was expecting a complete meltdown considering it was the exact same time as her nap.

She was one of the few who didn’t melt down at some point and actually kept a smile plastered on her face the entire time.

It was great.

It makes me realize how old she is getting.

She sat at the table with the big kids and ate her snack,

She shared toys with all the other kids SO well…

She didn’t enjoy story time, however.

1 year olds don’t sit still in a room full of new toys!

In all honesty, every single mom there oohed and ahh’d over her.

Yes, I understand I am biased because I am her mom.

But I kid you not.

It was really silly to watch.

They were all pinching her cheeks and tickling her…

She was walking from one mom to another just giggling.

When she’d pass someone, they’d pinch her little chubby legs.

Seriously.

I heard so many moms remark on how cute she was, how much personality she had, how expressive she was, how happy she was, etc.

I LOVE hearing that.

They didn’t have to say it and they didn’t about any other kids from what I heard.

She seriously, honestly stole the show.

She danced in the center of the circle during story time and clapped like it was going out of style.

So yeah. She’s currently crashed in her crib.

She has just melted my heart.

Oh, and her cupcake bow from yesterday’s photo shoot was made by yours truly. :)
